Smoked Turkey & Corn Fritters

Ingredients:
  • 1 (15 oz.) can corn, drained
  • 1 cup smoked turkey, finely chopped
  • 1 large egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 (4 oz.) can ORTEGA Diced Green Chiles
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 Tbsp butter OR margarine, melted
  • 1 tsp hot pepper sauce
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 (16 oz.) can ORTEGA Salsa - Homestyle Recipe
  • 1 egg, beaten

Preparation:

Combine corn, turkey, egg, chiles, milk, butter and hot pepper sauce in medium bowl. Combine flour and baking powder in small bowl; add to corn mixture. Stir just until combined.

Heat 2-inches of oil to 375° F in a large, heavy-duty skillet. Drop 1/4 cup of batter into oil and fry for 3 to 4 minutes on each side or until cooked through and golden brown. Drain; serve with Picante Sauce.
