Barbequed Pork Steaks

Ingredients:
  • 2 Tbsp butter or shortening
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 6 pork steaks

Preparation:

Prepare barbecue sauce: In medium saucepan over moderately high heat, melt butter and sauté onion. Add ketchup, water, lemon juice, vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce and salt. Simmer mixture, stirring often. Set aside.

Barbeque Pork Steaks: Place pork steaks in pan and bake in preheated 500° oven for 15 minutes. Drain fat from pan. Reduce heat to 350°, pour sauce over pork steaks and continue baking until steaks are done, about 45 minutes, or grill the steaks until cooked through, basting often and generaouly with sauce. yield 6 servings.
