Cocktail Hamburgers

Ingredients:
  • 3 lbs lean ground chuck
  • 2 slightly beaten eggs
  • 1/2 cup grated onion
  • 1 green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp seasoned pepper
  • 1 tsp sage
Sauce Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 2 cups catsup
  • 2 tsp nutmeg
  • 3 Tbsp dry mustard

Preparation:

Combine ingredients, and mix with hands. Using the palm of the hand, shape into balls the size of walnuts and flatten out. Broil on both sides.

Sauce Preparation:

Combine ingredients and simmer 10 minutes. Combine hamburgers and sauce and put into chafing dish. Serve with cocktail buns about the size of a half dollar.
