Balsamic Glazed Flank Steak

Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp steak sauce (such as A1)
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/4 lbs flank steak
  • freshly ground black pepper to taste

Preparation:

Whisk together the vinegar, oil, ketchup, steak sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Put the steak into a glass pan and pour on the marinade. Marinate at room temperature 30 minutes or up to 24 hours in refrigerator.

Line the bottom of a broiling pan with aluminum foil. Spray the rack with vegetable cooking spray. Remove the steak from the marinade (reserve the marinade) and place on the pan.

Sprinkle with pepper. Place on the second rack from the top of the oven under a hot broiler. Broil about 4-5 minutes per side, or until cooked to the desired doneness.

While the steak is cooking, bring the marinade to a boil in a small saucepan. Boil 1 minute to a glaze consistency. Carve the steak across the grain and drizzle with the glaze.
