Apple Rum Buns

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 package yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 cup strained apple sauce
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 Tbsp salt
  • 5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
Glaze Ingredients:
  • 3 Tbsp rum or 1 Tbsp rum extract
  • 2 Tbsp water
  • Confectioners' sugar

Preparation:

Boil the 1 cup water and butter for 10 minutes. Cool to lukewarm.

Dissolve yeast in the 1/2 cup warm water.

Combine remaining ingredients like any sweet dough. Punch down.

Glaze Preparation:

Shape into buns and bake at 400° F for 15 to 20 minutes. Glaze.
