Triple-Apple Raisin Bread

Ingredients:
  • 1 - 1/4 oz. package active dry yeast or 2 1/2 tsp
  • 1/2 cup apple juice
  • 2 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup apple pie filling
  • 1/3 cup chopped dried apple
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup raisins

Preparation:

Dissolve yeast in warm apple juice.

In a bowl, combine flour, whole wheat flour, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda, apple pie filling, chopped dried apples, sour cream, butter, and raisins. Stir in the yeast mixture and knead to form a soft dough. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to coat, cover, and allow to rise until doubled; about 1 1/2 hours.

Punch down; form in a greased loaf pan, and allow to rise again; about 1 hour.

Bake at 350° F for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the top is browned.

Servings: 1 loaf
