Aunt Dodie's Butter Cream Cake

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp lemon extract
  • 2 1/4 cups flour; sifted
  • 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 3 egg whites; well beaten

Preparation:

Cream together butter and sugar. Add milk a little at a time. Add lemon. Gradually beat in flour and baking soda. Carefully fold in beaten egg whites. Turn into greased and floured pan and bake in a moderate oven until done.
