Corn Chowder Soup

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 lbs bacon, chopped
  • 1 med. onion, chopped
  • 2 cup potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 2 (17-oz.) cans cream style corn
  • 1 (13 -oz.) can evaporated milk
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 - 2 lbs shredded cheddar cheese

Preparation:

Fry bacon and drain (reserve 1/4 cup drippings). Set aside. Sauté onion in bacon drippings. Set aside. Cook potatoes, drain (reserve 2 cup potato water).

,p>Combine bacon, onion, potatoes, 2 cup potato water, cream style corn, evaporated milk, salt and garlic powder. Heat to low simmer, then add cheese carefully.

Servings: 4 to 6
