Japanese Date Bars

Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup Butter
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 Eggs; beaten well
  • 3/4 cup Flour
  • 1/4 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 cup Chopped nuts
  • 1 cup Chopped dates
  • 1 tsp Vanilla (optional)
  • Powdered sugar (optional)

Preparation:

Mix in the order given. Bake at 350° F for 30 minutes. Cut when hot. May be sprinkled with sifted powdered sugar when removed from baking.
