Sweet and Sour Red Cabbage Recipe #1

Ingredients:
  • 3 lbs cabbage, shredded
  • 1 Tbsp salt
  • 1/2 cup cider vinegar
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 3 1/2 Tbsp bacon grease

Preparation:

Place cabbage and sat in large pot, add enough water to just barely cover.

Boil until tender, drain off most of the water.

Add vinegar, sugar and bacon grease (bits of the bacon make it even better) and simmer for 1/2 to 1 hour.
