- 5 cup White Lily flour
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 tsp soda
- 1 cup Crisco
- 2 cup buttermilk
- 2 package yeast dissolved in 1/4 cup lukewarm water and some of the sugar
Preheat oven to 450. Combine dry ingredients. Cut in Crisco and stir in yeast and buttermilk. Roll and cut as desired or make into Parkerhouse rolls.
Bake on middle rack of oven at 450° F or about 10 minutes. Ovens vary. Dough may be covered tightly and refrigerated as long as a week, as needed.
You do not have to wait for rolls to rise, but you may prefer to let them rise an hour or more before baking.Servings:
