Biscuits

Ingredients:

  • 4 cup flour
  • 4 tsp Bakewell cream
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 1/2 cup cold milk, maybe a little more

Preparation:

Sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Add shortening and mix with pastry blender. Add milk and stir quickly. Turn out onto a floured board. Roll to 3/4-inch thickness and cut with desired shapes. Bake in 350° oven for 20-25 minutes.

Just before they are done baking, spread butter on the tops of each biscuit to make golden brown. Serve hot with real butter and a smile.
