Pinto Beans and Cornbread Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 1 lbs ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 cup cooked tomatoes
  • 2 cup cooked pinto beans
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 2 boxes Jiffy cornbread mix

Preparation:

Cook beef and onions until almost done. Stir often but do not brown. Drain. Add barbecue sauce, tomatoes, pinto beans, sugar, and chili powder. Mix well and pour into 9x13 dish.

Mix cornbread mix according to package directions. Pour batter over the beef and bean mixture. Bake at 400° until cornbread is brown.
