Italian Meatballs

Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef
  • 1 1/2 lbs lean ground pork
  • 1 large bud of garlic, pressed
  • 2 tsp mixed italian seasoning
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 3 cups canned dried bread crumbs
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1 Tbsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 large jar spaghetti sauce
  • 8 oz. mozzarella cheese (opt.)

Preparation:

Mix together beef, pork, garlic, italian seasoning, parmesan cheese, bread crumbs, eggs, water, salt, pepper. Shape into small balls, Fry in small amount of olive oil, turning occasionally until brown on med. to low.

As you fry them, put them into a large baking pan. Pour sauce over them as desired. Bake covered 1 hour or more at 325° F or until done. If used for sandwich, melt mozzarella cheese over them the last 10 minutes before serving.
