Applewood Fried Biscuits

Ingredients:
  • 1 quart milk
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 2/3 packages dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 3 tsp salt
  • 7 to 9 cups flour

Preparation:

Add yeast to warm water. Add other ingredients and fold together. Let dough rise. Work into 2 inch biscuitpatties. The biscuits will continue to rise, but don't let them rise too high. Drop into hot fat.

You can freeze bisquits individually and stored in plastic bags. The fat should be slightly hotter than 350° F.

NOTE: If the fat gets too hot, the biscuits will sag in the center.
