Applesauce Donuts
Ingredients:
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 1/2 Tbsp melted shortening
- 2 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup applesauce
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Glaze Ingredients:
- 1 lbs powdered sugar
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 cup hot water
- 1/8 lbs butter
Preparation:
Mix liquid ingredients in bowl; add sifted dry ingredients and mix well. Drop with tsp into HOT oil. Turn when brown.
Glaze Preparation:
Mix all ingredients together until creamy. (This glaze makes enough for a double batch of donuts.)
