Sauté the salt pork until crisp and brown. Remove the bits, drain and refrigerate. Add the onion, potatoes, water and corn to the crockpot with the salt, pepper and paprika.
Cover and cook on Low for 6 to 8 hours. Turn the cooker to High and add the green pepper to the soup.
Simmer for 5 to 10 minutes, or until the peppers are tender.Add the milk and warm it through.Place the pork bits in the serving bowls and ladle the soup over them.
