Fill an 8 x 12-inch ungreased dish with sliced apples. Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and a sprinkle of nutmeg and cinnamon. In smaller bowl, beat eggs with fork and add to flour mixture. Place on top of apples.
Melt butter and lemon juice in a saucepan and pour on top of crumb mixture. Bake at 350° F for 40 minutes. Top with ice cream or whipped cream.
