For topping combine flour and brown sugar. Bring butter to room temperature and work into the flour mixture until well combined. Set aside.
Combine sugar, nutmeg, and cinnamon. In a large bowl, toss the apples with the sugar mixture to coat evenly. Lightly butter a 9x13 inch dish. Add apples and cover with topping. Bake at 350° F for 1 hour. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
