South-of-the-border Layered Dip

Ingredients:
  • 2 - 9 oz. cans bean dip
  • 3 avocados, mashed
  • 2 T lemon juice
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 - 8 oz. jar of picante sauce
  • 1 cu sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 pkg. taco seasoning mix
  • 1 bunch green onions, chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 - 3 1/2 oz. cans chopped ripe olives
  • 8 oz. cheddar cheese, grated
  • 8 oz. monterey jack cheese, grated

Preparation:

Spread bean dip in a 7x11-inch dish or 14 inch platter. Mix mashed avocados, lemon juice, garlic salt, pepper, and picante sauce; spread over bean dip. Mix sour cream, mayonnaise, and taco seasoning; pour over avocado layer.

Top with green onions, tomatoes, olives, cheddar cheese, and monterey jack cheese in the order given. Serve with tortilla chips.
