Basic Uncooked Buttercreme Frosting

Ingredients:
  • 3 Egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup Powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 4 oz. Butter softened
  • 4 oz. Butter chilled

Preparation:

Put first 3 ingredients in electric blender and blend until well mixed. Add softened butter a little at a time to blend. Then blend in the firm butter a little at a time until creamy and thick.

Variations: BEFORE ADDING BUTTER add 1 square melted and cooled unsweetened chocolate or 1 teaspoon instant coffee, or both.
