Egg Yolk Pastry for Pie

Ingredients:
  • 5 cup all purpose flour
  • 4 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cup Crisco shortening
  • 2 egg yolks

Preparation:

Mix egg yolks until smooth. Add to 1 scant cup water. Mix flour, sugar, salt and baking powder together. Add shortening. Sprinkle egg and water mixture over dry ingredients. Toss with fork to make a soft dough. Do not overwork.

Servings: several pir crusts
