Yesterday we had some friends over and I made my own, even cheaper version of Trader Joe's corn and black bean salsa - it was just as good, maybe better.
I just dumped a can of whole kernel corn and a can of black beans (both drained, both about 15 ounces) into a bowl with a 12 oz. jar of TJ's cheapest ($1.09) regular salsa, stirred in a couple tablespoonfuls of chopped cilantro and sprinkled a bit more over the top for looks.
Great success with baked corn chips!
