Firecracker Baked Beans

Ingredients:
  • 1 - 64 oz. can kidney beans
  • 3/4 cup smoked bbq sauce
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp liquid smoke
  • 1/4 cup prepared horseradish
  • 1/4 cup yellow mustard
  • 1 cup green bell peppers, chopped
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 4 slices bacon, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp margarine or butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation:

Mix beans in large bowl with the barbecue and Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke, horseradish and mustard. Set aside.

Sauté over medium heat peppers, onions, bacon, margarine, salt and pepper. Combine with bean mixture and transfer to glass baking dish.

Cover and bake for 50 minutes at 300ºF. Uncover and bake 10 more minutes.
