Break off cabbage. Do not put in tough pieces that will turn cabbage black.
Cover with water and lemon juice and boil. Drain; add hot water.
Add salt to taste or add a piece of salt pork or sausage.
Cook until tender. Pour off some water. (Optional) add can of Carnation Milk.
Simmer 15 min. Do Not Boil.
